Michael J. Mangieri

New Age composer and recording artist

Michael J. Mangieri is a solo synth artist specializing in soft, spacey, warm synth compositions. Born in NYC in 1953, now a resident of Reisterstown, MD., Michael, or “Mikey” to his closest friends,  started playing the accordion (yes the accordion) back in the 60s and he still does! He started a couple of short-lived rock bands in the 70s where he played an electric accordion (he actually took his acoustic accordion and added pickups and other electronics to allow it to operate with an amplifier) and Farfisa organ. Married life took most of his time through the late 70s and 80s when he finally returned to music in the early 90s after purchasing a Roland D-20. Soon after he added a Roland JV-1000 Workstation (one of the few who actually has one!) and released his first CD, Cosmic Visions, in 2000 on MP3.com.

He now owns a Roland FA-07 and a FR-8X digital accordion.

His most current CD, titled “In The Mind’s Eye”, was released back in 2010. He is now working on his third album, ‘Antares Rising’ after a long hiatus.

In June of 2025 Michael re-branded himself using his full name vice the stagename (Epaphras) he had been using and all the music tracks have been remastered.
